The Clydesdale Motor Truck Company was located on Amanda Street in the former Elmore Car Company factory space. The company was incorporated in 1917 and manufactured truck chassis. Most of the company’s early inventory was shipped overseas for use during World War I. The Clydesdale Company was at the forefront of truck manufacturing during the early 20th century, when trucks were relatively new in the automobile industry, and catered to a global market after the war. The Clydesdale Motor Truck Company enjoyed a prosperous couple of decades but dissolved in 1939 during the Great Depression. (James Semon.)
